Who doesn’t love the “O”?

I have to admit I was a little skeptical and definitely “blushed” when the Sephora consultant told me to go with this shade made from NARS.

It’s called “Orgasm” and it’s peachy pink sheer color gives me a perfect golden shimmer. After doing some research, I found that it’s has received amazing reviews and has won the award for best blush by Allure multiple years in a row. What rock have I been living under?

Here’s the scoop:

1. Based on my experience and research, I can without a doubt say it looks good on my skin tone whether I’m pale or with a summer glow.

2. You don’t need to use a lot, just a light dusting and trust me it will stay with you all day.

3. It’s won the best of beauty award by Allure 2004 - 2008. It went into their hall of fame in 2011. And, it’s been chosen as their Reader’s Choice Award for 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003, and 2002.

4. It’s priced at $29.99, however if you stick with what I said and don’t use a lot. It will last, I bought mine in March and I’m not even close to running out.

5. The only downside is when someone will ask you what the name of the color is ;)

I’m sure this is not the first blog you will find ranting about this blush, if you use other Nars blush colors, which one do you love? If you never tried one, I highly recommend this color. Enjoy!

Glossy Box - May 2013 Review

I’m finally writing about my May Glossy box, and once again I’m completely impressed. This month’s theme is all around “A year of beauty, one year of celebration”. The Glossy box mag is packed with glimpses inside the make up bags of their chic friends across the pond. There is also a section that is inspired of the Gatsby headpieces that dazzle to every girl’s type of look. I also love the lash lush section, which focuses on Xtreme Lashes®. Lastly, there are sections around coral, my favorite summer color and some great showcases on bronzing powders and sunscreens. Take a look:

Next up, the amazing products:

IMG_0683

Epionce - It’s an intense anti-aging repair serum. Packed with vitamins A, B, C, D & E. I’m definitely going to try it out and see if really does prevent the signs of aging. Full size worth $136.00

European Wax Center - Two samples The EXFOLIATE (full size $38.00) and The BODY LOTION (full size $20.00) + A free wax for first time guests.Which usually runs from $38 - $48 for a bikini wax. It just so happens there is a place right by me in NY (Massapequa) waxcenter.com . So, I’m going to check it out. Perfect timing for Summer.

ModelCo Lip Duo - I did receive this sample once before and I loved it. My only grip is that the mirror on the side of the product is positioned backwards. It should be flipped so you can actually use while you’re applying the product. But, it’s a great find. It’s a creamy lip gloss on one side and a soft lip stick on the other side. Perfectly matched. Full Size (which is what I got) $39.00

Nicka K New York - Solid perfume stick. This is great to carry around, my only fear is it’s summer and it may melt in my purse. The smell is light and fresh, and I LOVE the packaging. They have other products, like perfume for your hair. So chic! Full Size (which is what I got) $14.99

Sebastian Professional - Volupt Spray, which is a spray gel which is supposed to offer full volume and softness. I’m intrigued, I’m going to try it and let you know the outcome. The best part, is Ulta sent me a coupon for 20% a purchase of the full size. The real full size price is $19.95

Once again, I’m truly impressed with the products I received for just $22.00 a month. I really recommend that you try it for one month. They also have options where you can send boxes as a gift. The concept is great and so are the products. Discover GLOSSYBOX

Lately there is magic in my make up bag.

It took me a lot of trial and error over my lifetime to figure out when you find makeup that works, STICK WITH IT.

Lately, I’m having so much fun getting ready in the morning and here are the reasons why:

God gave me a lot of amazing things that I love about myself, but he sold me short on my eyelashes! But, a girl doesn’t need to fret anymore because I found the perfect mascara.

They’re Real Mascara by Benefit – This lengthens my lashes better than any fake pair I’ve ever used. And trust me so much more comfortable. You can buy it pretty much anywhere, and it lasts for at least a month. A little pricey at $23.00. But, to me it’s worth the money because I feel lovely wearing it.

Who else loves it?

I’ve always wanted the perfect glow, and admired the girl who could do it with various beauty tools. But, than I found my match.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder - It’s an all in one finishing and highlight powder. It immediately brightens my face and gives me a healthy glow. And the best part, it really does last all day. It’s easy to apply, you can use it however you want and get the perfect look you need.

It’s out of stock now at Sephora, but you can find it on their site and Amazon is selling it as well.

My love and hate relationship with make up and concealer has gone on for years. I have combination skin, and I’m constantly on the run with no time to make touch ups. Here is the one and only that works for me.

Make Up Forever Professional - I’ve tried so many different types of make up brands. I was a huge fan of Bare Minerals for years… And than, I found my match in Sephora of course. Where you can get a starter kit for just $79.99. This is the most amazing make up I have ever used. It stays put, and for me that means a lot. I’m not the type that wants to be stuck in the lady’s room at work 3 times a day doing touch ups. With my busy day, I way too busy for that. But, I want to look together. This make up makes meets those expectations.

I know everyone has different skin types, it’s not one size fits all. However, if you have struggled like me on the topics I posted above it’s worth a try. All of the links I posted above are through Sephora.com. Another trusted site I adore, however you can easily search the web and find them at other sites as well.

Share with me some of your favorites. What works for you?

My latest obsession….

Lately, I’ve been obsessed with beauty sample clubs. I’ve always enjoyed trying new products based on recommendations from my friends. However, joining these clubs has opened up a world of new products for me.

They come wrapped in a gorgeous box and each month has a theme, with a mini catalog describing the samples you receive. If you can afford to spend between $10-20 a month, than give it a try. The best part is sharing them with your family or friends. Even better, you can “gift” them as well. What woman wouldn’t love a surprise box with beauty samples in it?

Listed below are my top 3 favorites, hopefully they will become your favorites as well.

1. Glossybox - This is the most expensive of the 3. But, believe me you get what you pay for. One month I received a full-sized deluxe sample of BB cream from Model Co. I love it, and it’s now a staple item in my make up bag. The price is $22/month. They even offer gift boxes that you can send to a friend. Brilliant.

2. Sample Society - Designed by Beautybar.com and Allure Magazine. The best sample I received from them was a Butter Nail lacquer. The price is $15/month, and I absolutely love their website. When you login you can see all of your past samples. The best part about this club is each month you get a $15 coupon offer to use toward a $50 item. So, you’re basically getting your $15 back if you buy a full size product from that monthly box.

3. ipsy - This is the least expensive of the 3. Lately, I’m not excited by what they have to offer. Each month you receive your samples in a make up bag, which would be great. But, often they’re cheap and not worth using. The samples are okay, but you can find them in any drug store. It’s a cheap option if you want to start small.

Give them a try. If you’re not fully satisfied, you can cancel easily. To me, it’s always fun to get a package at the door with a surprise in it.
